How to Edit Your Hosts File in Windows 10

  1. At Windows, search for Notepad:

  1. Right-Click on Notepad and select on Run as admin

  1. Click on File > Open:

  1. Paste the path below to the to the Window Explorer:
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

  1. At shows document file extension, click the drop down and click show all file:

  1. After that, may open hosts file:

  1. From here you may assign your domain to refer to other web hosting without affecting the DNS pointing:


For example, your domain is connected to Hosting A, while you require to check the    content under & Hosting B. You may configure as sample below:


Please replace:

domain.com to your domain

>IP address above to the website hosting IP that you wish to connect to


  1. Click on File and click Save


  1. Lastly, refer guide below to purge your device and browser cache. After that, may browse the domain / website and it shall be showing the content from the other web hosting.
