What Is The Difference Between Domain Transfer and DNS Update?

For DNS (Domain Nameserver) Update

When you change the name servers for your domain name, you are directing the internet's DNS servers to direct traffic for your domain name to our DNS (or "name servers"), which are:

Nameserver 1: dns1.mschosting.com

Nameserver 2: dns2.mschosting.com

You can obtain the DNS from your hosting provider.

Following the DNS update, your website or email services will experience some downtime. Typically, it takes between 18 to 72 hours for domain propagation to complete before your domain name fully resolves to the new server.

For this reason, it is recommended to make the domain DNS update during off-peak hours.

For Domain Transfer

To begin with, when you use this term, it typically pertains to a Domain Registrar transfer. A domain registrar transfer occurs when you transfer your domain from one registrar to another.

For instance, you may transfer your domain from Webnic.cc to Enom.com. The new registrar will take over the management and billing of your domain.

Regarding Exabytes, you will observe that the domain name is transferred to Tucows instead of Exabytes.

No need to worry! Tucows is our domain registrar, which is why you see Tucows listed as the gaining registrar.

However, before proceeding with the transfer of the domain name, there are a few things you should be aware of.
