SGNIC Domain Lock

SGNIC Lock (.sg, .com.sg, .net.sg, .org.sg, .edu.sg,.gov.sg, .per.sg) Domain Name via Client Area

You may LOCK  or UNLOCK domain name by access to client area /billing system. Below are the steps:

Lock Domain Name

  1. You may access to our client area at https://billing.exabytes.sg/mypanel/clientarea.php

    Email Address: Primary/ Registered Email 

  2. Once log in, please click to 'Domains' ---> 'My Domains' 

  3. Select the domain name that you want to lock or unlock

  4. Click to 'Registry Lock' at the Manage Side Bar which is located at the left hand side

  5. Click to 'Enable Registrar Lock' to lock the domain name.

  6. Domain name is locked now.

Unlock Domain Name
  1. You may access to our client area at https://billing.exabytes.sg/mypanel/clientarea.php
     Email Address: Primary/ Registered Email
  2.   Once log in, please click to 'Domains' ---> 'My Domains'
  3.   Select the domain name that client want to lock or unlock
  4.   Click to 'Registry Lock' at the Manage Side Bar which is located at the left hand side
  5.   Click to 'Disable Registrar Lock' to lock the domain name
  6.   Domain name is unlocked now.

There is another lock for SGNIC domain name which is Registry Lock. 

"RegistryLock" is a security feature implemented by SGNIC to help .sg registrants mitigate the risk of "domain name hijacking".

To enable Registry Lock:

1. Login to "VerifiedID@SG & RegistryLock" portal (https://registrylock.sgnic.sg) via SingPass or SGNICID

2. Click on "Domains without RegistryLock"
3. Click on "Lock" button

4. Domain is locked and change of name server is not available. 


To disable Registry Lock:

There are 2 types of "unlock": 

(i) Unlock (Temporary) and 

(ii) Unlock (Permanent).

The Unlock (Temporary) is to temporarily disable RegistryLock in order to allow the appointed registrar to make authorized changed on the domain name. 

The Unlock (Permanent) is to permanently disable RegistryLock on your domain name (i.e revert the domain name to its original RegistryLock disable status).


To unlock the domain name, the administrative contact of the domain name shall:

1. Login to "VerifiedID@SG & RegistryLock" portal (https://registrylock.sgnic.sg) via SingPass or SGNICID

2. Click on "Locked Domains"
3. Click on "Unlock" button where he/she will be presented with the choices of "Unlock (Temporary)" and "Unlock (Permanent)".

4. May change the domain nameserver accordingly after the domain name is unlocked.
