MYNIC has announced a revision to .MY domain name policy towards the .MY domain name lifecycle, effective from March 16, 2023.
You can check .MY domain name availability via Exabytes website. The registration process is based on a first-come, first serve basis, and domain names can be registered for a minimum of 1 year and maximum of 10 years. You may also want to refer each extensions' requirements.
During the registration period, your domain is in an active state, allowing you to make changes to the contact information, change of registrant, transfer registrar and change nameservers.
To keep the domain active, you must renew it before expires. Keeping your domain active is essential for ensuring your website remains accessible online and your email services continue to function.
You can renew your domain for a minimum of 1 year to a maximum of 10 years depending on your eligible remaining year(s) so you can be worry-free, knowing that your digital asset is safe for the next decade. You may drop us an email at custcare@exabytes.my for assistance on your domain name renewal.
In Exabytes, invoice will be issued 45 days prior to your domain expiry date automatically followed with several payment reminders to ensure that you manage to secure your domain name on time.
If you request to delete your domain name before it expires (during active status) or during the renewal grace period, the domain name will be immediately placed in the redemption grade period of 30 days, followed by a pending delete period of 5 days.
Expired domains will enter Renewal Grace Period for 45 days where you can renew it at the normal renewal price.
If no payment is received, your domain will enter Redemption Grace Period for another 30 days where you will then need to renew with a higher renewal price (it is nearly a double of the normal renewal price charged).
After that, you can no longer renew your domain name as it heads into Pending Delete phase (5 days) before being deleted and release for public market.
Thus, you are advised to make early renewal to secure your domain name, as well as to avoid the service disruption upon the expiry date.
This .MY domain name billing cycle apply to all .MY domain name including the .MY Premium domain name.
